It is with much humility and excitement that I begin my tenure as Brentwood’s eighth Mayor. The obligation and responsibilities associated with the office of Mayor are not something that I take lightly. As the most visible elected representative of the community, I will do my best to represent our beloved Brentwood and will work most diligently to achieve a most favorable perception of our community.
As Mayor, I have pledged to operate in a non-partisan manner, promoting best practices and cooperation in the operation of our local government. I feel that we are fortunate to have such an outstanding Council and a qualified professional staff, and I am confident that we will work together to allow our community to grow and prosper. In my professional life, I previously served as director of the Allegheny County Department of Economic Development; in this position, I had the opportunity to implement a variety of operating controls and measures that allowed for an effective and efficient delivery of departmental services. Working with Manager George Zboyovsky, I look to offer guidance and assurance as we begin to work to improve upon our various governmental activities. As president of a professional services company here in Pittsburgh, I have demonstrated my commitment to our region, and I hope to utilize what I have learned in my career for the benefit of our community.
Ten years ago, when our son Alec was born, I decided that we wanted to settle in Brentwood. I believe that our municipality offers an excellent package of amenities and services that makes it an attractive place of residence for individuals of all walks of life. Through hard work and dedication, we will continue to enhance our borough. I hope that you will choose to spend some time in our community, which I know is the top community in our region in which to raise a family!
Dennis H. Troy, Mayor
