Blood Drive Offers Holiday Cheer in Exchange for Lifesaving Donations

Each November, families gather around the dinner table to celebrate the blessings in their lives. After the turkey is carved, the football games conclude, and the hectic frenzy of Black Friday shopping is culminated, won't you take some time to pay it forward? The Central Blood Bank will hold a drive on Saturday, November 24th at the Brentwood Library Community Room. The event will take place from 10AM to 3PM. In exchange for making a difference in the lives of those with serious medical needs, each participant will receive a complimentary pass to the Kennywood Holiday Lights Show.

Free Class Designed to Enlighten Small Business Owners on Modern Fundraising Tools

Web based crowdfunding tools have provided a mechanism for individuals and families to solicit contributions for personal causes, nonprofits to expand their donor base, and artists and musicians to kickstart dormant projects.  On January 27th, Economic Development South will hold a seminar that is designed to allow private businesses to harness the power of this technology. This free event will take place at 10AM at the Brentwood Civic Center. Advanced registration is required by visiting the Eventbrite page.
