Summer Celebration Kicks Off

Temperatures are rising...and so is the "fun factor" in Brentwood Borough! Join us for our annual summertime extravaganza. The party begins on June 30th from 10AM to 4PM with Community Day. This year's event features the theme of "Happiness is Brentwood." A convoy of food trucks from well known vendors such as Hot Dawgz, The Coop Chicken & Waffles, Sugar & Spice, Pittsburgh Crepes, and Swaggalicious Carribbean Cuisine will be on site. Guests can also play nostalgic carnival games, participate in an axe throwing exhibition, and take home a whimsically shaped balloon animal as a souvenir. Children can additionally bounce the afternoon away at an array of inflatables.

On July 3rd, an exciting street fair comes to Brownsville Road. Vendors will line our municipal Main Street between Hillson Avenue and Hillman Street. The event takes place from 6PM to 9PM and features the "Battle of the Barrels" at 6:30PM. Cheer on the Brentwood Volunteer Fire Company as they engage in a soggy version of tug-of-war with peer departments. Brentwood wishes Lady Liberty a happy birthday with a full scope of activities. The Firecraker 5K race takes place at 9AM, and it is immediately followed by our cherished, renowned parade at 10AM. Festivities move to Brentwood Park as the sun falls to the horizon. Local band "Mercedez" will play soul, funk, and hip hop staples at 7PM, and our spectacular fireworks show will take place at 9PM.

The Borough appreciates the work of the dedicated volunteer committees and municipal staff members that plan this impressive line-up of events.

Organizations Team Up to Support Needy Families, Independence Day Festivities

Two local nonprofits are joining forces to benefit our community. On Saturday, June 23, the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Pittsburgh will be accepting gently used clothing and housewares in the parking area at Brentwood Park.  At the conclusion of this collection drive, all donations will be weighed and will be used to calculate the amount of a cash contribution that will be provided to the Brentwood July 4th Committee.  If you have uneeded items cluttering your closet, join us from 10AM to 1PM to fund the mission critical activities of these two worthwhile entities.  For more information, view the attached flyer

Blood Drive Offers Holiday Cheer in Exchange for Lifesaving Donations

Each November, families gather around the dinner table to celebrate the blessings in their lives. After the turkey is carved, the football games conclude, and the hectic frenzy of Black Friday shopping is culminated, won't you take some time to pay it forward? The Central Blood Bank will hold a drive on Saturday, November 24th at the Brentwood Library Community Room. The event will take place from 10AM to 3PM. In exchange for making a difference in the lives of those with serious medical needs, each participant will receive a complimentary pass to the Kennywood Holiday Lights Show.
