The draconian horrors of federal tax season are behind us! Residents are invited to securely dispose of unneeded financial documents at the Brentwood Business Owners Association’s popular “Shred-It Day” event. This free service is available from 9AM to noon on April 29th in the Brentwood Middle-High School parking lot.

Are other hard-to-recycle items cluttering your garage or basement? Two programs operated by the nonprofit Pennsylvania Resources Council may help to clear up valuable space. This organization invites residents to drop off household chemicals, including aerosols, automotive fluids, paints, pesticides, and similar products at a cost of $3 per gallon. These cash only events will take place from 9AM to 1PM on May 6th at North Park, on August 19th at Boyce Park, and on September 16th at South Park. Recent changes to state law have also drastically reduced the number of vendors that will accept electronic waste. PRC will collect televisions, computers, cellphones and other items for a fee on five separate dates, including at an August 20th event at Century III Mall.
