Because of the assistance of a grant from the Commonwealth Financing Agency, Brentwood Borough will be engaging in a project that is concurrently designed to improve pedestrian accessibility and the overall aesthetic appeal of our central business district. Beginning on October 8th, the municipality's contractor will commence the completion of infrastructure upgrades such as the installation of decorative stamped crosswalks, the replacement of aging sidewalks, and the placement of traffic calming curb extensions. Due to the nature of this project, traffic will be temporarily prohibited on sections of Brownsville Road. The Borough is working closely with local business owners, school officials, first responders, and transit providers to ensure that that disruptions are kept to a minimum. For more information about the project timelines and the detour routes, please view the informational sheet here.
