Building Plans to Be Reviewed at Special Meeting

At its October meeting, Brentwood Borough Council authorized its contracted architectural consultant to begin the process of developing formal plans and construction documents for the proposed municial building. On November 6th, the body will convene at 7PM to review design elements with Brentwood EMS.

Parking Amendments Reviewed by Council

Brentwood Borough Council is presently entertaining two pieces of legislation that pertain to the storage of vehicles. First, the body will consider an ordinance that amends the municipality’s general parking provisions. The key component of this draft is the inclusion of language that unambiguously requires the use of off-street stalls where available. Brentwood is also reviewing the possibility of implementing a special “business parking zone” on several streets that abut the Brownsville Road corridor. In these designated areas, only residents and permitted employees would be entitled to on-street parking. This ordinance does not mandate the implementation of any broad permit parking program. Second, Council will review a recommended alteration to its metered parking ordinance. This proposal would designate the dead end portion of Munsey Avenue that abuts the GetGo parcel as a paid parking zone. A copy of the drafts are available online here.
