The recent dramatic changes to the recycling market can feel confounding, as states and municipalities have spent the prior 40 years encouraging residents to maximize the number of goods that are removed from landfills. As Brentwood Borough works with its local partners to review a more permanent solution to the removal of glass from the recycling stream, a temporary option has become available. Area disposal company Michael Brothers will be launching a three month pilot program to test the profitability of the glass recycling market. Cleaned containers can be placed in a designated bin at their facility, which is located at 901 Horning Road in Baldwin, at no cost. This service will be available on Wednesdays from 7AM to 4PM and on Saturdays from 7AM to 11AM. If you have any additional questions, contact the vendor at 412-835-6428.
