  • Refuse Billing: Effective July 2016, Brentwood will be introducing a new combined sewage and refuse statement.  Customers will no longer receive a separate quarterly invoice but will instead be issued a single monthly bill. Republic Services remains under contract to provide residential trash and recycling collection.

Roadway & Sidewalk Projects: Pursuant to the approved five-year street improvement plan, the Borough is scheduled to rehabilitate sections of Shadyway Drive, Villawood Avenue, Kingsley Street, Pointview Road, and several alleys. Residents Needed to Participate in Research Study on Route 51 Corridor Improvements

How can civic engagement be utilized to improve the often arcane and cumbersome process of commercial corridor planning? As part of their investigation into this important topic, researchers at Carnegie Mellon University are collecting data from Brentwood and Whitehall Boroughs. A deliberative community forum pertaining to the Route 51 corridor will be held on July 11th at the Brentwood Community Room. The event will begin at 6PM and will feature small group discussions and conversations with a panel of experts. The organizers are seeking a minimum of 20 participants. For more information, please view the attached flyer.

Prescription Disposal Available at Municipal Building

With Western Pennsylvania in the midst of an opiate abuse epidemic, local police departments are working feverishly to curtail the use of illegal drugs. Residents can assist with this task by promptly disposing of unwanted or expired medications. The Borough has placed a Med Return prescription take-back box in the municipal building vestibule, which can be utilized to dispose of these items at no cost. Please note that aerosols, ointments, and needles cannot be accepted at this site.

Sampling Scheduled for Area Waterways

Employees from Pennsylvania American Water and its affiliated consultants will be testing for pollutants in Saw Mill Run and its tributaries. In order to access the streams, it may be necessary for these individuals to traverse private property. Staff members will drive conspicuously marked vehicle and will carry PAW credentials.  For more information, please click here.
