  • Infrastructural Updates: Contracts have been awarded for Phases I & II of the park enhancement project, and a groundbreaking ceremony for this long awaited development will be held on May 3rd.  The Borough is also soliciting proposals from experienced architectural firms that outline both renovation and reconstruction options for the municipal building.

Zoning Ordinance Revisions:  The comprehensive overhaul of the zoning ordinance is nearly complete.  The Planning Commission provided a list of suggestions to our outside consultant during the April meeting.  It is anticipated that Council will vote on a finalized draft before the conclusion of the summer season.

New Waste Collection Rules Come into Effect

As of January 2013, Brentwood residents will no longer be permitted to place computers, televisions, or similar electronics at the curbside for removal by Allied Waste.  The Covered Device Recycling Act prohibits the disposal of these items at landfills so as to prevent harmful heavy metals from seeping into the water supply.  The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection maintains a list of authorized electronics collection sites.
