| New Waste Collection Rules Come into Effect |

As of January 2013, Brentwood residents will no longer be permitted to place computers, televisions, or similar electronics at the curbside for removal by Allied Waste. The Covered Device Recycling Act prohibits the disposal of these items at landfills so as to prevent harmful heavy metals from seeping into the water supply. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection maintains a list of authorized electronics collection sites. |
