Special Meeting Rescheduled Print E-mail


Brentwood Borough Council was set to conduct a special meeting on November 6th at 8PM at the municipal building. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss personnel matters related to the suspension of the chief of police.  In order to give the Civil Service Commission an opportunity review testimony, this meeting has been rescheduled.  A Civil Service hearing will be held on November 10th at 10AM.  Council will hold a special meeting on the same date at 8:15PM.

Borough in Need of Additional Crossing Guard Print E-mail


Applications continue to be accepted by the Borough for part-time crossing guards.  Selected individuals will be required to work approximately 17 to 20 hours per week. Crossing guards must have the ability to withstand exposure to inclement summer and winter weather conditions. Interested persons must submit a completed employment application to stoth @ brentwoodboro.com.  Hiring preference will be given to Borough residents.

Brentwood Borough Seeks “A Few Good Men" (or Women) for Board Service Print E-mail


Do you consider yourself to be a civic-minded individual? Are you looking to make a difference in our community? Brentwood Borough is seeking volunteers like you to fill a variety of open seats on our boards and commissions. Opportunities are as follows:


  • Civil Service Commission: two (2) alternate seats. This board serves to ensure equity in Police Department personnel decisions by overseeing the officer hiring and promotion processes. Individuals employed by any governmental entity are not eligible for candidacy. Brentwood residency is required.
  • Rental Property Board of Appeal: three (3) regular seats and (3) alternate seats. This new body is charged with hearing appeals of rental license revocations, tenant disruptive conduct reports, and other enforcement action under our rental property ordinance. The open seats must be filled by a homeowner who does not own rental property in the Borough, a landlord, and a tenant. A corresponding alternate is required for each of these positions.  
  • Shade Tree Commission: three (3) regular seats. This innovative multi-municipal committee works to enhance the aesthetic appeal and environmental health of the Brentwood-Baldwin-Whitehall area. Brentwood residency is required. 
  • Uniform Construction Code Board of Appeal: one (1) regular seat. This board is tasked with hearing appeals of permit denials, violation notices, and other decisions of the Building Code Department. Applicants should be experienced in the construction trades.
  • Zoning Hearing Board: one (1) alternate seat. This critical body has jurisdiction over requests for variances or special exemptions from the Borough zoning code. Individuals employed by any governmental entity are not eligible for candidacy. Brentwood residency is required.
