State Senator to Hold Office Hours in Brentwood Print E-mail

 

State Senator Jim Brewster, who represents a Brentwood Borough in the upper house of Pennsylvania's legislature, will hold satellite office hours at the municipal building on the first and third Wednesdays of April, May, and June.  Staff will be on site from 1PM to 4PM to answer constituent questions and address concerns. Borough Looks to Hire New Director of Recreation Print E-mail

 

Although Brentwood's Department of Parks & Recreation only recently sprouted from humble beginnings, it has already made a tremendous impact on the community.  In order to ensure the continued sustainability of our programs and events, the Borough is seeking to fill the open position of Director of Recreation. Prospective candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in physical education, recreation administration, or a related field and have a minimum two years experience in recreational program management. Borough Council has not yet determined whether the successful applicant will be employed part time (24 hours per week) or full time (40 hours per week). Additionally, this position will require occasional night and weekend work for the purposes of overseeing programs and attending meetings with elected officials. Candidates must possess current CPR/First Aid certifications.

Two Ordinances to be Considered for Council Adoption Print E-mail

 

At its December 8 Regular Meeting, Brentwood Borough Council will consider adopting a pair of new ordinances.  Through Ordinance 2014-1232, the Borough seeks to update its sewage billing and collection procedures.  Ordinance 2014-1233 will address the 2015 real estate tax rate, which is unchanged from the 2014 assessment of 8.75 mils.  Collected taxes will be earmarked as follows:

 

Police Department ..... 5.35 mils

Debt Service ..... 1.52 mils

Capital Improvements ..... 1.38 mils

Public Library ..... 0.50 mils
